    Kyoto/Neuss – Kyocera Corporation announced the KC-91, a new protective overcoat that can be applied to Kyocera’s thin-film thermal printheads commonly used in dye-sublimation printing applications such as the self-service digital photo printing machines increasingly found in public locations.   • KYOCERA Provides Solar Power Generating System for Palau’s Largest Solar Project

     Island nation’s airport to be powered by the sun

    Kyoto / Neuss − Kyocera Corporation announced that it has supplied a solar power generating system for the Republic of Palau international airport — the 226.8kW solar installation is the largest to be completed on the island nation located roughly 500 miles east of the Philippines. The design and implementation of the parking lot solar project was a joint collaboration between Kyocera and Wakachiku Construction Co., Ltd., which was realized with funding by the Japanese government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) to help contribute to the country’s growth. more

  • KYOCERA to Acquire 100% Ownership of LCD Manufacturer OPTREX Corporation

     Acquisition to further expand LCD and touchscreen panel businesses

    Kyoto / Neuss − Kyocera Corporation today announced that it has completed a share transfer agreement with three investment funds operated by Japan Industrial Partners, Inc. to acquire all shares of Optrex Corporation (herein “Optrex”) — a specialized manufacturer of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and related products — in order to further strengthen and expand its LCD and touchscreen panel businesses. Effective February 1, 2012, Optrex will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kyocera Corporation. more
